When Chevrolet first introduced the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray it was evident that it was a head-turner. People took notice of the mid-sized sports car from the get-go. With an Adonis-like body, the new Corvette Stingray is fast and loud making you notice its presence amongst the crowd.
The Stingray isn’t only bark; it has ample power in its bite too. The 2020 Stingray has around 494 horsepower and a top speed of 194 mph. Along with that, it bolsters an impressive record of going from 0 to 60 in just 3 seconds.
As you can see the specs of the new Stingray from Chevy are impressive. However, what is even more impressive is its price. While most sports cars with this sort of specs start at a high range the 2020 Stingray did not.
The base price for one of these beasts is 59,995 dollars. But I know that you are not simply buying the stingray at its best price. You need to get the best value for the Stingray you will buy. Much like the Porsche, Chevrolet also has filled the Corvette Configurator with a plethora of add-ons and features for you to ponder on.
The amount of customization you can do on the Corvette is huge. You can buy a long-legged tourer or you can even get a track-ready sports car depending on your preference. This is something many mid-sized sports car manufacturers don’t include now.
However, if you want a car that gives you a bit of both and also provides the best value for money then check out the following passages:
The Model Of Choice
The 2020 Corvette Stingray comes in 3 different models. The 1 liter, the 2 liters, and the 3 liters are the choices available to the customers. To be honest, I prefer the one in the middle. The 2 liter has an upcharge of 7300 dollars and I will happily pay it given the upgrade.
With the 2 liters you get to have heated and ventilated seats, satellite radio, a 14-speaker Bose audio system, a wireless phone charger, and the slick Performance Data Recorder. The data recorder captures your track performance on video which you can show later to your friends, family, and kids.
Trust me, it makes for an amazing viewing experience especially if you went on the tracks. The safety features of this model are great as well. It comes equipped with a front curb-view camera, a rearview camera mirror, and blind-spot monitoring.
This allows the driver to cover blind spots and minimizes the risk of accidents happening as the mid-sized sports car has a wide and low cockpit. Now with another 4650 dollars additional, you can get the 3liter version. This comes with deluxe trimmings.
The interior of the 3 liters Stingray has suede and leather-wrapped surfaces all throughout the cabin. Now the reason I won’t choose the 3 liters is that while the deluxe trimmings are beautiful they exude more of a luxury car vibe. I feel that it is a waste in a sports car. If I wanted a luxury car I would buy a Mercedes or something along that line.
Add-On Options Of Choice
Now I know Chevrolet claims that they have amazing all-season tires but what I need is assurance. This is why I would pay the additional 5000 dollars to get the Z51 Performance package.
What this package will add are electronically controlled limited-slip differential with a shorter final-drive ratio, Brembo brakes. Along with that, you will also a performance exhaust good, a heavy-duty cooling system, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tires are part of the package.
Another must-have for me would be the Magnetic Selective Ride Control dampers. While it does add another 1895 dollars but it is worth it. It provides amazing stability on the road as it adjusts to conditions on the go.
So you will feel the least amount of harshness from the track when you are tearing it up. I would also get the front-axle lifter for another 1495 dollars because I want my Corvette’s nose to be clear of speed bumps and driveway aprons.
To spruce up the interior, I would get the Adrenaline Red GT2 bucket seats which will cost another 1495 dollars. However, I found that the seats work best if you have some subtle color and I have the perfect one for this.
My color of choice for the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray would be the Ceramic Matrix Gray Metallic paint. With all these the Stingray has already become a formidable vehicle but on top of this, I will add five-trident-spoke wheels.
This will be 1495 dollars but it is worth it. I find the Spectra Gray rims to be better for the car as it doesn’t blur the detailing. If you have additional requirements for tires you can use a car tire size finder online for other types.
The Dream 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
Now I know what you are thinking, this is a far cry from the base price of 59,995 dollars. While it is 78,675 dollars it is still way cheaper than most entry-level mid-sized sports car.
