Davanti Tyres, a name well known in the mid-range market, is making a bold leap into motorsport with its new Protoura Race tyre — a semi-slick, road-legal performance tyre engineered specifically for track domination.
This move marks a significant milestone for the British tyre manufacturer as it becomes the control tyre for not one but two exciting racing series in 2025 — the Swift Sport Challenge and the MINI Challenge Clubsport.
The Swift Sport Challenge Debut
Leading the charge is the newly formed Davanti Tyres Race Team, featuring seasoned racer Adam Blair and TREAD Ltd’s Ray Collier. Their campaign in the inaugural Swift Sport Challenge will see all cars equipped with Protoura Race rubber, offering an affordable entry point into competitive racing without compromising on performance.
Collaboration seems key, with the Davanti team openly sharing car setups and tyre pressure data with rookie drivers — a refreshing and supportive approach aimed at nurturing grassroots motorsport talent.
MINI Challenge Clubsport Partnership
Davanti has also locked in a three-year technical and branding deal with the MINI Challenge Clubsport. From 2025 to 2027, all competitors will run on the Protoura Race tyre, supplied by BMTR Motorsport. Expect to see the iconic Davanti orange decals making a statement at tracks across the UK.
Built to Win
What sets the Protoura Race apart? Directional tread design for stability in all conditions, a reinforced carcass for precise feedback, and a grip-focused compound tuned for acceleration and braking. Having passed rigorous tests at Silverstone and Spain’s Calafat Circuit, it’s already won over Motorsport UK with List 1B approval.
Peter Cross, Davanti’s CEO, describes this expansion into motorsport as “a new era,” highlighting the tyre’s role in elevating the brand’s performance credentials.
With sizes ranging from 13” to 18”, the Protoura Race isn’t just for the pit lane — it’s for drivers who want track-ready capability on the road too.
