Exciting New Porsche 911 GT3 RS Spied Winter Testing

The GT3 RS is a hardcore stripped back version of the already hyped up Porsche 911 GT3. The car was recently spotted testing in thick snow by Auto Media.

New 911 GT3 Upgrades

Thanks to these spy shots we may be able to tell a little more about the Porsche. You can see from the wide arches that the car will have a wider and longer track than the standard car. The RS also has an huge front splitter and deeper air intakes. The most interesting new edition are the air cooling ducts that are over the wheel arches, this may mean that the GT3 RS is packing more braking power than ever before.

Rear Wing

From behind, you will notice that the rear wing dominates the entire look of the car, this is significantly bigger than the GT3 and would suggest that the car creates a lot more down-force which will be supported by a new rear diffuser as well.

Performance

The 991 GT3 RS is going to be powered by a 3.8-litre rear mounted engine, the same as the GT3, and will be putting out around 5000bhp. 0-60mph will be expected in around 3.5 seconds, but I am yet to hear if the top speed has increased on the car, judging from the size of that rear wing I would suggest that it is more likely to decrease. There is a rumour that Porsche are considering a six speed manual gearbox for the car, but we will have to wait and see how it develops.

The car has been spied winter testing and is set to go on sale mid 2015, but it could be unveiled as early as the Geneva or Detroit motor shows next year
