The Showstoppers
Iāll get to the name-dropping. Showing (and for the first time in the UK) at the London Motor Show will be the Bentley Bentayga, the Ferrari 488 Spyder, the Rolls-Royce Dawn and the Lamborghini Huracan Spyder.
The Wild Cards
If that wonāt get you running for tickets, then the more unusual displays below might.
VUHL 05 Lightweight Supercar
This weird and wonderful Mexican born-and-bred car isĀ onĀ sale for Ā£59,995. Equipped with Fordās Ecoboost 2 litre engine and over 400 bhp running through its veins, get a quick look at this at the show while you can as it is meant to become heavy involved in a packed global programme.
Riversimple RASA
The Riversimple RASA is possibly the strangest looking car in my opinion, and arguably one of the most impressive. Not in terms of rugged good-looks and fame perhaps as with the name-dropping above. But as a lightweight electric car powered by hydrogen fuel cells, it represents the future of what is to come in the automotive industry. Itās a pretty nifty showcase for the London Motor Show.
Mitsuoka Brooklands Roadster
A definite distinctiveĀ British design here, quite different from the other models pictured. Donāt let the classic design fool you though. The Brooklands Roadster is quite the tech-savvy car. The RoadsterĀ has all the latest technology: four-wheel ABS; Electronic Brake Force Distribution; Dynamic Stability Control; Traction Control system; advanced safety features⦠I could go on.
Infiniti Q60
This is one that I am excited to see. If you lookĀ our post on the Infiniti Q60, you can see that this is quite the car, but thatās not the specific reason why it is so interesting. Infiniti itself has been proactive with the brand recently, pushing the automotive boundaries and really reaching for the stars. They unveiled the new Infiniti SUV at the Beijing Auto Show this year and have released a good many concept cars earlier this year too. Theyāre really going for it.
MG GS
The GS is the new SUV from MG, on display for the first time at the London Motor Show, exciting for starters. The plans for launching the car in the UK will take place in June, soĀ make sure you catch it here first.
McLaren 570GT
This is one to make you weep with desire. Fitted with a 3.8 litre twin turbo V8 M838TE engine, generating 562 bhp and 600 Nm of torque. Originally unveiled at this yearās Geneva Motor Show, it will be available in the UK from July onwards, if you have a spare Ā£154,000 of course.
Not A One Trick Pony
If your poor feet get tired walking around these amazing cars, then thereās also a lecture theatre with Sir Stirling Moss, Tiff Needell, Ben Collins, Nigel Mensell and Afzal Kahn speaking. Worth seeing and it could even inspire new avenues of thought, who knows.
Letās Go!
If all this has whet your whistle and youāre off to the London Motor Show, enjoy the wide variety of cars on display. Although itās mainly the weird and wonderful included in here, there are the ānormalā type cars too. Car prices at the show range from Ā£8,000 ā Ā£200,000 so there is definitely something for everyone.
