Mini Remaster 7

David Brown Automotive Presents: The MINI Remastered

A Classic MINI With all the mod cons you Could Want

The swinging 60’s are back, thanks to David Brown Automotive. The company behind the interesting Speedback GT (See here) is now building brand new original MINIs. Called the MINI Remastered it is a completely hand built version of the original MINIfrom the 60’s, but with added modern conveniences that we have today such as sat nav, Apple CarPlay and keyless-go.

“Designed to be the ultimate in modern and classic town and city driving, the MINI Remastered uses a range of luxurious materials and finishes to create the ultimate classic MINI.”

A Handcrafted MINI Built Better Than it was in the 60’s

The MINI Remastered is handcrafted by the coachbuilders at David Brown Automotive with a completely new interior and reconditioned 1275 cc engine teamed with a 4-speed gearbox. The MINI Remastered is boasting almost 50% more horsepower over the original engine. The MINI also comes with completely new suspension and brakes.

Everything you Could Want in a car all Squeezed Into a MINI

The MINI Remastered’s interior is the star of the show though, “The car, which is offered as standard with an in-built infotainment and navigation system, has a host of modern connectivity, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a four-speaker sound system, keyless-go, USB connectivity and charging, as well as push-button start and remote central locking.” The seats are hand trimmed with leather sourced from British hides with a selection of paint, leather and fabric finishes available. Retro Smiths dials and a DB Automotive engraved Moto-Lita steering wheel team with an improved driving position and even a cupholder to complete the interior making what DB Automotive call “one of the most luxurious classic cars ever re-imagined”.

Updated Looks but Still Undoubtedly a MINI

The exterior of the car is updated but still remains undoubtedly a MINI, with a new grille taken from the Speedback GT and rear light clusters with ‘jewel-like’ details and bezels again taken from the Speedback GT. “Each car will have handcrafted enamel David Brown Automotive badges and modern detail touches such as puddle lights fitted to each classic bullet-style wing mirror.”

The Price to pay for all This 60’s Modern Magic

Now comes the hard part: this fantastic bespoke modernised hand-crafted MINI costs £70,000. Whilst for the common man that is a lot of money, this car is designed for the fashion-conscious London elite who will undoubtedly be interested in a new old MINI. For the rest of us though I guess we’ll have to stick with the original that will just break down all the time. Well, it could be worse… you could be in the BMW MINI.
